How do you know what the bridge of a song is

in like standard pop songs, the bridge only occurs once and has contrasting music/lyrics from the entire rest of the song. it’s typically found ¾ of the way through, before the song ultimately returns to the final run(s) of the chorus.

a pretty straightforward example is blank space:

  1. verse 1 (”nice to meet you, where you been?”)
  2. chorus (”so it’s gonna be forever”)
  3. verse 2 (”cherry lips, crystal skies”–exact same music as verse 1, just different lyrics)
  4. chorus (”so it’s gonna be forever”)
  5. bridge (”boys only want love if it’s torture”)
  6. chrous (”so it’s gonna be forever”)
